Matthew 11:19
I'm curious what you guys think about this verse in Matthew 11:19, particularly the last line: "wisdom is justified by her children" (NU=works). This is one I've read and pondered over many times, but somehow I still don't feel I've quite gotten the "full revelation" out of it. The reason for that being, I think, is because in the context where Jesus is speaking, talking to the crowd concerning John the Baptist and the generation present in that day, he (Jesus) manages to say a lot in few words. In other words, the complexity of Matt. chapter 11 makes it difficult to focus on just one point. For me anyway, I read it and it's like I see too much to grasp all at once. For example, 5 verses prior to 19 we have the oft-quoted "violent take it by force" passage, which is a whole nother forum topic on it's own...
You see what I mean. Anyway, for simplicity's sake, how about "Wisdom is justified by her children?" What think je?
